Welcome to Wheat Ridge
A perfect blend of outdoor fun and urban chic
A thriving community centrally located between Denver and the Foothills, Wheat Ridge is known for its spectacular mountain views, parks, and trail system. It’s a pit stop for travelers on their way to the Rocky Mountains, and residents get to have the best of both worlds. They enjoy the Rockies' natural beauty and outdoor adventure, and also have the cultural amenities of a well-planned city. The architecture includes historic farmhouses, bungalows, modern homes, townhouses, and condominiums.
What to Love
Local Lifestyle
Residents enjoy the great outdoors. As if having the Rockies in your backyard wasn’t enough, there are more than a dozen parks strategically placed around the city for relaxation and enjoyment. The Wheat Ridge Greenbelt, part of the Clear Creek Trail, connects several parks and provides a “continuous scenic corridor.” Bicycling is also a very popular pastime for the locals, and Wheat Ridge Cyclery sells bikes, parts, and apparel — precisely what’s needed for that biking trip in the Foothills. The Wheat Ridge Farmers’ Market is where locals get the freshest produce from local urban farms. The annual Wheat Ridge Carnation Festival in Anderson Park is a big community party complete with a parade, carnival rides, live music, a classic car show, food and beverages, and fireworks.
Dining, Entertainment & Shopping
Blending French and American food, the West 29th Restaurant & Bar serves a great Roast Leg of Lamb. Over at Clancy’s Irish Pub, they cannot help but be proud of being the oldest continuous pub in Colorado, and you might guess that their Reuben sandwich goes perfectly with Guinness on tap. For early morning or late-night coffee and small dishes consumed while curled up on an oversized sofa, head to The Bardo Coffee House.
Work off those calories at the Ridge at 38 shopping district, which encompasses several blocks and includes craft stores, antique shops, art galleries, bowling lanes, a jewelry store, spas, and food and drink. For weekend picnics, biking, walking trails, and a skate park, residents enjoy the Discovery Park. You also might like a tour of historic buildings or an education program at The Wheat Ridge Historical Society.
