Local Lifestyle
Residents can enjoy some serious retail therapy in the Belmar Shopping District, including fine dining, upscale clothing and jewelry stores, and art galleries. The next day they can be out swimming, hiking, biking, and fishing at Bear Creek State Park. Locals know how to work hard, play hard, and then get together at the Lakewood Farmers Market to enjoy local produce and gifts.
Dining, Entertainment & Shopping
Enjoy fine dining over at the 240 Union Restaurant - locals say the Quail Satay is delicious. Head on down to Gabys German Eatery for “food like grandma’s,” and try the Sauerbraten with Dumplings. If seafood is your thing, you can “pick your shellfish, pick your seasoning, and pick your heat” at The Yabby Hut. Go to the legendary Cafe Jordano and grab a Chicken Parmigiana Sandwich and a hot Cappuccino for some comfort food.
If the Belmar Shopping District were not enough, the Colorado Mills Mall offers everything a fashionista could want. All the big designer names in clothing, shoes, and personal products are there. There is so much to do over at Heritage Lakewood Belmar Park, including a museum, rotating exhibits, an outdoor amphitheater, and tours of historic buildings. Anytime you need 2,400 acres of wide-open green space at William F. Hayden Park on Green Mountain beckons with hiking trails, views of the Rockies and Denver, and a rich array of wildlife.
