Welcome to Denver
A treasure in the backyard of the Rocky Mountains
Denver is a vibrant and diverse metropolitan area known as the “Mile High City”. Older neighborhoods closer to the city’s center contain beautiful architecture from the 1800s, set amongst with skyscrapers and business areas. Suburban-like sections have cropped up, fanning outward from the center, and include modern homes, townhouses, and condominiums.
What to Love
Denver has something to offer all its citizens. Outdoor lovers have parks, mountains, and lakes galore. City lovers will find great shopping districts, art galleries, museums, and concerts. Locals love to gather, shop, dine, and hang out in the Cherry Creek North neighborhood, known for its tree-lined streets of upscale stores and boutiques, salons, spas, and fine-dining restaurants. Denver is known for its green urban oases, and Sloan’s Lake Park, with its 177 acres, offers breathtaking views, hiking trails, tennis courts, picnicking, and water skiing.
Dining, Entertainment & Shopping
If you are out for a day of fun and starting early, head for Rosenberg’s Bagels for a breakfast sandwich. For “la dolce vita” and fresh handmade pasta, look no further than Tavernetta, an Italian food paradise. You only live once, so make sure you order dessert first, namely, Tavernetta’s divine Tiramisu. If you love Asian food, you will love ChoLan Modern Asia, which combines the tastes of the Far East with western cuisines.
Experience a gift lovers’ and book lovers’ nirvana at Tattered Cover Book Store, a unique place to shop and gather with other community members. For the newest in CDs and the oldest in vinyl, residents love to hang at the Twist & Shout record store, where the past meets the future in harmony. And speaking of a past/future love affair, right in the city's heart is Union Station, a historic landmark filled with restaurants, bars, and boutiques. While making a day of enjoying the city, locals also love to soak up some art and culture with the latest exhibit at the Denver Art Museum. The museum also has classes for aspiring artists.
